There are key reasons supporting why Google issues core search ranking algorithm updates several times a year. The purpose of these updates is to examine the current performance of a business and evaluate how this performance peaked up or downgraded compared to the past SERP of a company.

To allow a better understanding of its algorithm dynamics, Google clearly states that, “as with any update, some sites may notice drops or gains. There is nothing wrong with pages that may perform less well. Instead, it’s that changes to our systems are benefitting pages that were previously under-rewarded.”
